OSFD – 3rd Generation Filter

OSFD – 3rd Generation Filter

The OSFD combines the advantages of the OSF and the OSFC. This top-of-the-range filter is characterized by extremely short reaction times and selective control of harmonics up to the 50th without amplitude or phase errors.
The degree of compensation and the control dynamics can be adjusted to suit local conditions optimally.
In addition to harmonics compensation, the OSFD is also suitable for extremely fast control of fundamentalfrequency
reactive power.
This also reduces the amount of flickering in the network.

Installation and wiring instructions

Installation and wiring

In principle, OSFD active filters can be operated at any desired location in the low voltage network. It must be considered, however, that the effect achieved will vary, depending on where the unit is installed.
OSFD active filters can be assigned to an individual load, a group of loads, a subdistribution board or a low voltage main distribution board, depending on the specified duty.
Joint operation of OSFD units in the same low voltage network makes it possible to install inexpensive solutions for complex power quality problems.
The current transformers for OSFD active filters can be installed as desired either before (line side) or after (load side) the filter's main connection.
